MASON Mount is excited to get going at United having been sold on the project at Old Trafford in meetings with Erik ten Hag.

Mount has signed for United in an initial £55million deal and was Ten Hag's top priority to strengthen his midfield this summer.

The 24-year-old leaves his boyhood club Chelsea to join United, but having discussed the club's future with Ten Hag and seen the strides made in the Dutchman's first season, he is confident he has made the right choice.

Mount was out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer and wanted to move to Old Trafford once the club made their move to sign him in this window.
