ALTAY BAYINDIR At fault for the goal in United's opening day defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford and also culpable for those conceded in the last-gasp 3-2 win over Burnely.
-
Ironically made some decent saves in 3-1 loss at Brentford but always looks like he has a mistake in him. Score 6
SENNE LAMMENS
Made an assured debut in the 2-0 win over Sunderland last weekend and is likely to keep his place ahead of Bayindir going forward. Commanded his box, two-footed, decent distribution and looks to be a solid option between the posts. 8
LUKE SHAW
Has had a mixed start. Called out by Roy Keane for “stealing a living” after poor display in 3-0 derby defeat at Manchester City, was excellent against Chelsea, poor again at Brentford and better against Sunderland. Needs more consistency of performance. 6
HARRY MAGUIRE
Like Shaw, he has endured an up and down start. Aggressive and solid in the win over Chelsea, was at fault for Brentford's opener in United's 3-1 defeat and benched as a result for the Sunderland win. Struggles to make United's first-choice back three. 6
MATTHIJS DE LIGT
United's most consistent defender so far, evidenced by the fact he’s started all seven Premier League games and played every minute. Whether he starts centrally or on the right of a back three, De Ligt's diligence and positional sense has shone through. 8
LENY YORO
Has established himself as United's best option on the right of a back three, so it remains a mystery as to why he started against Chelsea and Brentford on the bench, before being recalled for Sunderland. Calm under pressure and adept in possession. 7
