KING Charles has met with the 'heroes' of the Heaton Park synagogue attack.
The monarch travelled to Manchester yesterday to visit the synagogue in Crumpsall before meeting emergency service workers who responded to the attack.
Crowds gathered on Middleton Road as the King was greeted by Rabbi Daniel Walker who barricaded the doors when the terrorist tried to enter. Two people were killed during the incident on Yom Kippur - the holiest day in the Jewish calendar - on October 2.
However, all three men who were injured attended the royal visit, including security guard Bernard who was in hospital gowns.
Yoni Finlay, 39, who was accidentally shot by police as he helped barricade the synagogue doors, met the King alongside his parents.
The father-of-three said it was 'surreal' to meet the monarch, but the visit showed the Jewish community has the country's support.
Andrew Franks, who was stabbed by Jihad Al-Shamie during the attack, also met the King, days after being released from hospital.
Upon his arrival, the King was shown floral tributes that have been left outside the synagogue, before he was invited into the building.
Inside the synagogue, Rabbi Walker led a special prayer to welcome the monarch. Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis was also in attendance.
The King gifted a bottle of whiskey to the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation who in turn presented the monarch with a framed print of a memorial event held for the late Queen in September 2022.
Synagogue trustee Alan Levy said the King was 'extremely touched.'
He said: "It's just incalculable how much it's going to help the community.
