Dunkley is ready to shine at World Cup

Manchester Evening News

October 01, 2025

Sophia Dunkley has experienced cricket's 'cruel' nature but a sparkling past few months has left the England batter's confidence at an all-time high heading into the Women's World Cup.

A career with plenty of ups and downs is epitomised by Dunkley batting in every position from one to seven in one-day internationals and Twenty20s, never able to establish herself fully in either of the white-ball sides.

"It's definitely been a bit of a rollercoaster ride," she said. "The way I can play sometimes looks quite exciting and when it comes off, it's great but when it doesn't it isn't."
