Captain has Ty's back as defender comes in from the cold to rejoin squad

UNITED captain Bruno Fernandes has long thrown his support behind Tyrell Malacia as the Dutch defender makes his return to first-team activities under Ruben Amorim.

Malacia, 26, has been reintegrated into the senior squad by the Reds boss following a summer where he was branded a member of United's 'bomb squad' alongside Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Antony.

While the other four secured permanent and temporary moves away from Old Trafford, the left-back remained at the club after a potential move to La Liga side Elche collapsed on transfer deadline day.

Following the failure of Malacia finding a new club, he was included in United's registered squad with the Premier League, with Amorim confirming: "He is returning with contact with the ball with the Under-21s, then we will see."
