Brave tot was fighting for life before taking his first breath

Within a day the frail youngster was taken in for open-heart surgery, lasting almost nine hours.

“He was kept alive until he was grown enough for his surgery,’ Bilal explained. “It was incredibly stressful for us at that time. There is no other management of the condition or medication that can help, surgery was the only way and it comes with a huge risk”

Following the surgery, Bilal and Farah were told it had been successful, with little Zinedine then remaining in hospital for two weeks to recover. Although he improved, he had to undergo another procedure after suffering from a collapsed lung and difficulty breathing.
