Mystery of antique jug that vanished from town pub for 100 years

HELP is needed to solve the mystery of how a large antique jug disappeared from Macclesfield for more than 100 years before eventually arriving in Canada.

The 16kg patterned heirloom was bought from Waddington's auction house in Toronto by Conrad Biernacki and Brian Musselwhite in June.
The pair - both retired Royal Ontario Museum workers - were intrigued by a gold inscription under the spout with the words 'Mr Thomas Hill Macclesfield' and set about trying to uncover the item's history.
With help from sources including Cheshire Archives and libraries in Bollington and Macclesfield they learned how Thomas had bought the Staffordshire jug in around 1860.
