Macclesfield crowned champs on rivals' turf

THE Macclesfield FC Community Sports Trust Walking Football team participated and 'walked away' as Champions in a walking football festival hosted by Stockport County FC at their Edgeley Park Stadium.

Teams from Greater Manchester and Cheshire were placed in groups playing in a 6v6 round robin format with the top two teams playing in a semi-final, and then a final.

Macclesfield won their group and progressed to meet their hosts Stockport County in a final which was played after a rendition of the Champions League anthem in the 10,000 seater stadium.
