Salford 'fear losing more star players

SALFORD assistant coach Kurt Haggerty has admitted his club face the prospect of losing more star players in the wake of their 26-16 Betfred Challenge Cup win over Bradford.

The Red Devils lost half-back Marc Sneyd to Warrington earlier this week and there are major doubts over the future of Nene Macdonald and Tim Lafai due to their ongoing financial crisis.

Asked whether he was concerned about the exit of more big names, Haggerty said it was a 'massive fear' and added club officials are expecting to know more by the middle of next week.

Haggerty described a difficult build-up week in which Salford were constantly unsure of which players they would be allowed to pick due to their strict salary cap restrictions.

"It has been extremely difficult because we didn't know who we could select," said Haggerty.
