New £27m college campus hailed as bold step into the future for education

The new Cheadle College

A NEW £27 million 'state-of-the-art' college campus has been opened in Stockport.

Students at Cheadle College, on Cheadle Road in Cheadle Hulme, moved into their new 'cutting-edge' facilities earlier this month.

Borough chiefs say the project 'will redefine education for young people in Stockport and the wider Greater Manchester area.

Set over two and three-storeys, it has dedicated areas for students studying for A-levels and T-levels, including a clinical ward, science laboratories, and a virtual nursery.

It also has a specialist area for students with special educational needs (SEN) and new garden and sports facilities.

It also boasts energy-efficient features such as photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps, solar-efficient glazing, and lighting systems.
