Cafe will be a tribute to my 'Gran T'

Coffee house aims to recreate a visit to grandparents' home

A BOLD new cafe is opening in Manchester with a simple mission to make customers feel like they’re stepping into their gran’s front room for a warming cuppa.

Gran T’s Coffee House, which opened its first cafe in the heart of Altrincham in 2017, is opening a second site today at 9am on Great Ancoats Street. Sandwiched between the Northern Quarter and Ancoats, the new Gran T’s Coffee House is bringing its signature homely atmosphere to the area with cosy armchairs, hearty brews, and freshly baked cakes just like those your gran would make.

Both cafes are named after the owner Chris Taylor’s gran, Edith Taylor, who he called Gran T, and are a tribute to her and her warm nature.
