Reform clarifies stance on flying flag of county

REFORM UK has been forced to clarify its stance on county flags amid concerns Leicestershire's own flag would be banned from flying outside County Hall.

Party chairman Zia Yusuf initially said only Union and St George's flags would be permitted to fly from council buildings it ran.
Leicestershire became the last county to get its own flag in 2021, following a campaign led by Conservative MP Alicia Kearns.
Mr Yusuf’s post led to a backlash online, with Dr Luke Evans, Conservative MP for Hinckley and Bosworth, challenging the policy on X.
