Liverpool Sunday Echo
|November 09, 2025
A UNIQUE event is taking place at Liverpool John Lennon Airport this month, for the first time.
-
The south Liverpool airport is inviting runners to step onto the runway for a 5k run to support a local charity.
People of all abilities are being urged to head to the airport at 2am on Saturday, November 22, to raise funds in support of Alder Hey Children's Charity. The run gives participants a chance to run the length of the runway, with the runway's lights guiding their path.
The event will see those competing complete their 5k between planes using the runway for takeoff and landing.
