Xmas classic has audience in tears

FROM Home Alone to Miracle on 34th Street, there are many classic Christmas films that have stood the test of time. But no truer words are spoken than about It's a Wonderful Life. Families across the world have made watching the 1946 film a part of their Christmas traditions for decades.

It's considered one of the greatest films of all time and was recognised by the American Film Institute as one of the 100 best American films ever made.

Inspired by the Frank Capra film of the same name, Old Fruit Jar Productions, a northwest-based production company, have brought their take of the classic Christmas film to the Royal Court Theatre's Studio.

This follows on from a run of the show at the theatre and St George's Hall.

As you arrive at the theatre, some of its cast are already in position. We find George Bailey (Sean Radford) on a bridge, where he is contemplating taking his own life.

Some of its cast are at the theatre entrance and the bar, already donning their best American accents, transporting the audience to Bedford Falls.
