FLORIAN WIRTZ has been backed to become a success at Liverpool despite a testing start to his Anfield career.

Wirtz briefly became the most expensive signing in Reds' history when arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in a £116million deal earlier this month, a transfer that was later surpassed by Alexander Isak's £125m move from Newcastle United.

Despite providing an assist for fellow summer arrival Hugo Ekitike just four minutes into his competitive debut in the Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace, Wirtz (pictured below) has yet to provide another goal contribution having made a further eight appearances.
