We should be aiming to improve in ALL areas

Following his season-long loan move from Manchester City, Jack Grealish, the first £100million English footballer has made a bright start to life on Merseyside having been named Premier League Player of the Month for August - receiving the award for the first time in his career in the week of his 30th birthday - after providing four assists from his first two starts for David Moyes' men in the competition.

But with question marks over the Brummie's long-term future when his current deal with Everton expires next summer, Ratcliffe insists the player should not be immune to a policy of trying to strengthen in all departments.

Moyes has chosen to play several of his squad outside their natural positions to fill holes in the team and although he started his own career at fullback before moving into the heart of defence, the former Wales international believes this is not an ideal strategy with the likes of 6ft 6in Jake O’Brien largely being deployed in a wide defensive area since the manager's return in January.
