FRANKIE STRINGER extended his unbeaten run in the professional ranks with a points victory over Kane Baker on Saturday night.

- By CONNOR O'NEILL

Stringer made his long-awaited return to the ring at Oakwell, the home of Barnsley FC, on the undercard of Callum Simpson's stoppage win over Ivan Zucco.

The 23-year-old, who is managed by Liam Smith, was made to work hard for his eight-round win over the experienced Baker.

However, in the end, Stringer was just too quick and accurate for Baker, with referee Darren Sarginson scoring the fight 79-74.
