'LUXURY' CITY CENTRE FLATS PLAGUED BY VERMIN

- By LIAM THORP

A MAN says he has gone from luxury living to “Victorian conditions” at his Liverpool city centre home where he has been filming rats running wild for months.

The man, who has asked not to be named, is a resident of the ROCO development in Regian House, which is a former HMRC office based in James Street in the city centre.

He has lived there for the past two-and-a-half years and said that until recently, his £1,150 per month apartment was providing the luxury city centre living he was looking for.

But in recent months, things have taken a dramatic turn, with the man saying he is now confronted by large groups of rats in the apartment block’s communal bin store whenever he attempts to put out his rubbish.

In one video sent to the ECHO, at least six rats can be seen racing across the tops of bins in the bin store. Another video shows three rats peeking out of one of the wheelie bins.
