EX-DOCTOR WHO ACTOR TO STAR IN NEW SERIES OF PRISON DRAMA

FORMER Doctor Who star David Tennant has been confirmed in the lead for the next season of Time.

The BBC prison drama is penned by Liverpool writer Jimmy McGovern and will return for a third series next year.

Each season has been set in a different prison and asks probing questions about the British justice system and the way society treats prisoners.

The series has won acclaim for the unflinching way it tackles pertinent questions. Sean Bean and Stephen Graham starred in the first season, which was set in a men’s prison.
