Danny Lee runs Danny Lee Fitness Barbell Club on Rexmore Way in Wavertree.

Danny took the decision to go it alone after working in private gyms for a decade and initially opened up a premises on Sefton Street. He was told how owing to its size he would not be eligible for payment of business rates.

However, Danny was left stunned when he received a bill from Liverpool Council last year backdated to 2022 asking for thousands of pounds in rates. Months later, an enforcement notice came through with bailiffs coming to collect money.
