Beck hoping to prove his fitness before pre-season

OWEN BECK is hoping to prove his fitness in time for Liverpool pre-season training after seeing an impressive season long loan with Blackburn Rovers cut short by a hamstring injury.

The Reds left-back joined the Championship side back in August and made 25 appearances in all competitions during his time at Ewood Park. However, his progress was curtailed by injury back in February, with the Wales youth international then suffering a reoccurrence of the hamstring injury just 13 minutes until his comeback against Portsmouth late last month.

The 22-year-old was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the season, with Beck admitting he is ‘devastated’ by the setback.
