Youngster steps up to raise cash for Rainbows

COME rain or shine, young Evan Blowfield stuck to his task to ensure a cash windfall for Rainbows hospice last month.

The eight-year-old, from Ratby, walked 31 miles to raise £725 for the Loughborough charity, the East Midlands' only hospice for babies, children and young people.

Evan set himself the challenge of walking a mile every day throughout October, facing all sorts of weathers, including Storm Amy, and doubling his fundraising target.

The caring youngster, who enjoyed his daily walks with his parents, Katherine and Wayne, decided to help Rainbows after seeing a news piece about the charity on TV.
