Young seeks revenge in backyard of Americans

THOMAS Young vowed to seek revenge on his American rivals in their own Los Angeles backyard after a brilliant World Championship bronze in New Delhi, writes Will Jennings of Sportsbeat.

The Loughborough University sprint star, 25, delivered a scorching finish to grab the final spot on the T38 100m podium behind USA pair Jaydin Blackwell and Ryan Medrano.

Blackwell, the reigning Paralympic 100m and 400m champion, stopped the clock in a championship record time of 10.70s with Young, who won gold in Tokyo, 0.8s behind Medrano with a time of 10.98s.

Self-critical Young will not race the red-hot duo at the Commonwealth Games next year but has already set his sights on the LA 2028 Paralympics and emulating his Japanese exploits across the pond.

"Jaydin ran a really, really quick time," said the Loughborough University student.
