Woodland restoration sees cafe and parking area closed
Leicester Mercury
|March 04, 2026
A CAR park and cafe at a county beauty spot have temporarily closed as the final phase of restoration works takes place.
-
Parts of The Outwoods, which cover 110 acres of ancient woodland to the south of Loughborough, will also be closed to pedestrians.
Access to the car park from the main road - Woodhouse Lane - was blocked from Monday.
Olivia's Café will also be shut.
Charnwood Borough Council has instructed visitors to use alternative parking facilities at nearby Nanpantan Sports Ground and Moat Road.
The Outwoods can then be reached via a footpath, with the sports ground just over a mile's walk from the location, and Moat Road slightly further away.
