Tigers see off Quins to claim second cup victory in succession

LEICESTER Tigers secured a 25-17 win over Harlequins in their final game before the start of the PREM league campaign next weekend.

The performance under the Friday night lights at Twickenham Stoop was impressive from Geoff Parling’s side, comprising resilience and mental strength to repel a comeback in the second half and finish strongly.

It secured their second win in a row in the PREM Cup and was perfect preparation for the league season to come.

The Tigers side was made up of a mixture of first-teamers, academy stars and loan players from sister club Nottingham.

The first team regulars came through the game successfully, with Wales star Nicky Smith only brought on for the final 30 minutes in preparation for the trip to Bristol Bears next weekend.
