JAMIE Vardy revealed his decision over his future to Ruud van Nistelrooy in a “special” 45-minute conversation, with the Leicester City manager hoping his squad are now inspired to give the striker the best possible send-off.

Before going public, Vardy sat down with van Nistelrooy to mull over his career at City, and also his journey through football.

“The conversation I had with him was special,” van Nistelrooy said.

“He came to my office and told me what he'd decided. Then we spoke for 45 minutes on many things.

“It was a great conversation. It was impressive, like his career. The love for the club comes through in every word he said.

“We spoke about Fleetwood but also his time before that. Moving to Leicester, he felt really supported by the fans in the beginning.
