Is league's lack of jeopardy tempting players to check out?
Leicester Mercury
|January 26, 2026
BEFORE the game, the question was, “which Harlequins will turn up?”.
Would it be the lacklustre PREM version, or the team that beat La Rochelle away in Europe?
It would appear that, with no jeopardy any more in the PREM, and whether with the coaches’ blessing or not, the Harlequins players have themselves given up on the league.
With no fear of relegation we have reached a point in the season where it is quite possible for a group of players to be off the pace and simply, whether subconsciously or otherwise, not to care.
