Hermansen linked with Red Devils as west London interest cools

LEICESTER City may be relying on Manchester United to firm up their interest in Mads Hermansen if they want to sell the goalkeeper this summer, writes Jordan Blackwell.

City's number one is expected to leave in the transfer window with the club needing to adjust to a reduced budget in the Championship, and with Hermansen one of the few players in their squad who can generate a decent profit.

Hermansen, right, had groin surgery four games before the end of the season in order to ensure he's fit in time for pre-season.

However, it also means the injury cannot be a barrier to a move away.

If City want to use Hermansen to raise funds, they need a suitor, but potential destinations are being closed off.

Brentford had been named as one of the clubs interested in Hermansen, with a prominent Denmark contingent already in place at the Gtech Community Stadium.
