Yummy, eh mummy?

THE EXTRA faces in the dinner queue gave school cook Lorna Lowndes food for thought.

Yummy, eh mummy?

She recognised the adults but she couldn't remember why. Then she realised; these mums and dads were coming for second helpings — she had served them as pupils nearly 17 years ago and now she was feeding their children.

"It's funny to see ex-pupils returning for more. I must have done something right," laughed Mrs Lowndes of Manifold First School, Warslow.

Headmistress Joan Morris decided to make school dinners a family affair last Wednesday as part of the school's contribution to the spotlight on education campaign.

About 20 parents took up the invitation to dinner to see how school meals had changed over the years.
