Three months of roadworks as £1.4 million scheme begins

A MAJOR highways improvement scheme was due to start in Wetley Rocks on Monday.

The £1.4 million scheme is being delivered by Staffordshire County Council and is expected to take around three months to complete.

Work will include the reconstruction and resurfacing of the A520 main road through Wetley Rocks, in the vicinity of Oakland Close to the Texaco petrol station north of the village. Some sections of footpaths will also be resurfaced to improve accessibility for pedestrians.

Crews will also be fixing damaged drainage, kerbs and ironworks where necessary.
