Brehaut reveals his pride after Leek seal their Premier status

A WEEK on from the end of a campaign that saw Leek Town secure Step 3 survival, manager Josh Brehaut spoke of his “pride” in his squad.
The Blues boss admitted he was disappointed in his emotional response to losing the last game of the Northern Premier League Premier Division season at Gainsborough Trinity.
But having reflected on just how the club managed to turn their season around from relegation candidates to 15th position, 10 points above the drop zone, he is delighted with their achievement.
“My main feeling after Gainsborough was frustration because I felt like it was a missed opportunity,” said Brehaut.
“Ultimately, a week on, I can only look back with real pride on what we did in that second half of the season. In particular from being where we were,
“When the dust settles, where you finish in the league table is not the be-all and end-all.
“The main thing is we finished 10 points above the bottom line which I don’t think we'd have thought possible if someone had thrown that statement out there in January or even March. It's incredible really.”
He added: “Look at the strength of the league.
“There are so many teams that are so close together.
“That shows it is either a strong league or a weak league and it is certainly not the latter.
