HUNDREDS TURN OUT FOR BIG FUNDRAISER

Miles of smiles as YMCA fun run returns to park

HUNDREDS of runners including cavemen, dinosaurs, and heroic plumbers - brought a splash of colour to Reigate as the YMCA's popular fun run returned last Sunday.

They were joined by unicorns, princesses, fairies, dragons, cartoon characters, giraffes, and some groovy 1960s-inspired outfits for the annual YMCA East Surrey event in Priory Park.

The park was awash with smiles, as 818 competitors took part in seven different races, with participants ranging in age from four to over 70.

The longest run was the adult five-mile race, which took participants out of Priory Park and onto the streets of Reigate.

It was won by Max Smithson, in 29 minutes and 12 seconds, with Eloise Bull the first woman home in 30 minutes and 18 seconds.
