Welcoming plans for asylum should include clauses

Nigel Farage needs to brush up on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) with its 1951 Convention and indeed the 1967 Protocol relating to the Status of Refugees.

Refoulement, which is the legal term for the return of refugees to their country of origin, is illegal and is enshrined in the UDHR.

The UDHR obliges states to provide 'acceptable conditions of stay' to refugees and so award them the same treatment enjoyed by any foreign national entering a country.

This right thus prevents refugees from living in worse conditions than those they left, while allowing them to 'peacefully and easily integrate into the new host country'.

It is interesting to compare the UK with countries with welcoming asylum plans.
