Some things don't change - students still can't tidy up
Lancashire Evening Post
|October 20, 2025
In a world where things change constantly, it’s reassuring to discover something that has stayed pretty much the same for the best part of three decades.
Sure, it might have evolved a bit, brought up-to-date with a few technological tweaks, but by and large student life hasn’t changed much since I was at uni.
A visit at the weekend to son and heir, who is just over 100 miles away and two weeks into his accounting and finance course, confirmed what I already suspected: Students today aren’t so different from how we were in the 1990s.
Except for the fact that the 2025 cohort can use their phone to pay for drinks and have a WhatsApp group chat to moan about the state of the kitchen instead of leaving stroppy notes.
