A momentous occasion is happening at Wobschall Towers this week - son and heir is packing his bags and going to university.

It feels like a massive step, living away from home and fending for himself in the big wide world.

Sure, he's done the obligatory lads' holiday this summer in Zante and spent a few days in London with his girlfriend.

But this is another level; next week there will be no peeking into his bedroom to whisper 'see you later' when I'm off to the stables at 7am, nobody to fill the house with 18-year-olds and a crate of beer when the football is on.

It's another step on the road to adulthood when he'll close the front door here for good and open one of his own.
