PNE's fine first half is spoiled by defensive lapses

The visitors had built a 2-0 interval lead courtesy of goals from Thierry Small and Michael Smith in the first 10 minutes.

Small opened the scoring in the third minute when he plucked the ball out of the sky - after Hull failed to deal with a corner - and drilled the ball into the bottom left corner, with his right foot.

They doubled their advantage seven minutes later when Michael Smith was found on the edge of the box by Ben Whiteman. He took one touch, got his head up and picked out the bottom right corner with a perfectly placed finish.
