Pledge to resolve flooding problem

A councillor who has been lobbying for a long term fix to a flooded underpass has been assured by county councillors that a permanent solution is being sought.
Coun Ben Ward, city councillor for Ingol and Cottam, has been campaigning over the past year for a solution to repeated flooding at the underpass on Darkinson Lane in Lea.
The tunnel was constructed as part of the £206m link road scheme but it has been constantly blighted by flooding problems.
