'At risk' historic priory reveals its £10m restoration fund plans

Plans to repair and restore Lancaster Priory have been revealed in the month that the historic church was placed on the Heritage at Risk Register.

Lancaster Priory Church is now on The Heritage at Risk register

The Grade 1 listed church is a new entry on Historic England's register, which describes its condition as poor and in immediate risk of further rapid deterioration.

It has been given a top priority rating in the register mainly owing to the drains being in such bad condition that there's evidence of movement in the foundations and walls.
