Kilmarnock runner takes on the marathon to help Mary's Meals
Kilmarnock Standard
|April 23, 2025
A kind-hearted runner from Kilmarnock is taking on the London Marathon to raise funds to help feed hungry children in some of the world’s poorest countries.
Graeme Quinn, 36, will run the gruelling 26.2 mile route across the capital on Sunday, April 27 while fundraising for Mary's Meals.
The charity serves its school meals to more than 2.6 million children in 16 countries, including Ethiopia, Haiti and Malawi. The promise of a daily meal encourages children into the classroom where they will gain an education that can be their ladder out of poverty.
It costs just £19.15 for Mary’s Meals to feed a child at school for a whole school year.
Graeme is a marathon veteran and has even run three ultra-marathons in the past, though this is his first time running the London Marathon.
