Judges impressed with new hub that benefits wider health service

An Ayrshire mental health service which is the first of its kind for Scotland has won a national award.
The Unscheduled Care Assessment Hub, based at Woodland View in Irvine, has been named winner of the Mental Health Nursing Award at the grand RCN Scotland Nurse of the Year Awards.
Established in September 2023, the nurse-led Hub provides 24-hour assessment and short-term therapeutic interventions for up to 72 hours, supporting patients to remain safely in the community and limiting unnecessary inpatient admissions.
