Israeli Strikes Kill 20 More Despite Trump Directive

Israel struck multiple targets across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, killing at least 20 Palestinians, including children, just hours after US President Donald Trump asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to halt the bombing and welcomed what he described as a “positive response” from Hamas to his peace plan.
Trump, who has cast himself as the only leader capable of brokering peace in Gaza, said he believes Hamas is ready for a “lasting peace” and called on Israel to “immediately stop bombing Gaza, so that we can get the hostages out safely and quickly.” He urged both sides to seize what he framed as a “long-sought opportunity for peace in the Middle East.”
