Every morning on my way to the office, I see the same worrying sight. Patients and their attendants, sometimes with small children, dart across the Bypass near the Children's Hospital and JVC Bemina.

With no zebra crossing or pedestrian signal, every step feels risky. Cars and bikes speed by, leaving almost no margin for error.

The government deserves credit for moving hospitals from crowded city centers to the outskirts. The idea makes sense. It eases congestion and gives hospitals more space.

On the roads, however, the reality is harsh. Unsafe streets, traffic bottlenecks, and missing basic safety measures make the journey to these hospitals dangerous. A modern building matters little if people risk their lives just to reach it.
