CLOCKWORK IS GIVEN MUDDY STILETTO AWARD FOR BEING THE BEST IN KENT

- By SAM HONEY

WHETHER you're partial to a Pina Colada, enjoy the sweetness of a Daiquiri or prefer to sip a classic Old Fashioned, one Margate bar that has just been crowned the best in Kent is sure to meet your tastes.

The Clockwork Cocktail Company, found in the heart of the town at 68-70 High Street, opened in 2017 on a “shoe-string budget” and despite enduring the hardships of a global pandemic and tough cost of living crisis, seems to be going from strength to strength.

Owners Chris Kirkland and Anna Strindberg are well versed in the arts of cocktail crafting, having both worked at bars in London, Southampton and even abroad in Greece and across Europe.

Now, nearly eight years on since they first opened the doors of their Steampunk-inspired bar by the sea, the two have been handed a very impressive accolade in recognition of their hard work and dedication to consistency.

At the start of May, Muddy Stilettos announced its regional winners for its yearly awards, highlighting independent businesses from across a broad range of fields that have really been putting in the elbow grease. Clockwork took the regional award for best bar in Kent and will now go on to the national finals in hopes of being named the country’s top spot for a tipple.
