IRELAND had talked a big game ahead of going into a home game with France where they were rated six-to-one outsiders.

But conceding 14 points first up, having a 20 minute yellow/red advantage in the second-half, getting back to 15-17 but missing the conversion to get level, they lost by a dozen points.

Disappointment ensued for both sides as Ireland's poor handling cost them dearly, poor kicking cost them a bonus-point, while similarly inaccurate France failed to get a winning bonus point.

France no8 Téani Feleu was awarded the TV Player of the Match but there were two tries from the outstanding back-row Aoife Wafer while centre Aoife Dalton was top-class too.
