Higgins hits back over ‘liar' comments at Famine memorial
PRESIDENT Michael D Higgins has stated people cannot be branded anti-Semitic for criticising Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his country’s actions in Gaza.
President Higgins said that language was being distorted as he refuted claims he was an “anti-Semitic liar”.
Speaking at the Famine Memorial Park in Kilmallock, Co Limerick, he suggested that famine is being used as an “instrument of war” as he lamented the blockage of food into Gaza.
