Tavernier adds to Wolves’ misery as Gomes sent off

MARCUS TAVERNIER left Wolves counting their losses - which at this stage appear more painful than Bournemouth's.

Both these clubs were ransacked of their best players in the summer, but on this evidence it is Wolves who have larger holes to fill.

Vitor Pereira's side - hammered 4-0 at home by Manchester City on opening day ~ left even more gaps on the field when Toti Gomes was harshly shown a straight red card for bringing down Cherries striker Evanilson.

At that stage, Bournemouth looked likely to add to Tavernier’s early goal - set up by the effervescent Antoine Senenyo ~ but they trailed off.

‘Wolves actually improved when they played the last 40 minutes with 10 men but they badly lacked penetration.

And with no Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Nelson Semedo, they look, already, Championship-ready.
