THREE more people have lost their lives on our roads in a horror bank holiday weekend of collisions that brought the total death toll this year to 98.

Cyclist Luke Byrne, 19, died on Monday, after he was left in a critical condition following a road collision with a car on the R113 Fonthill Road South in Clondalkin on July 27 at around 11.40pm.

He was taken to Beaumont Hospital but sadly passed away on Monday from his injuries.

Romanian national Dragusin Vasilica, 31, died after his e-scooter was involved in a collision with a car on the Old Navan Road in Blanchardstown, Dublin, on Sunday.

Mr Vasilica was taken to Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown but was later pronounced dead.

And a male in his 30s died following a single-vehicle collision at Ballina Cross, Annahargey in Tullamore, Co Offaly, at around 11.50pm on Monday.

The male, who has not yet been named, was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.

His body was removed to the mortuary in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, in order for a postmortem examination to take place.
