Andy points Heimir to Mikel ploy

HEIMIR Hallgrímsson has been urged to take a leaf out of Mikel Arteta's book and do "whatever it takes" to send Ireland to the World Cup.

Arsenal have come in for plenty of criticism this season for their style of play, even though they are marching towards a first Premier League title in 22 years.

Former Ireland captain Andy Townsend has blasted the noise around the Gunners as "a lot of rubbish" - and he'd have no complaints if Hallgrímsson adopted a similar approach.

Ireland must overcome two tricky ties to get to this summer's World Cup - away to Czechia in Prague and then, if successful there, at home to either Denmark or North Macedonia.
