WEATHER warnings are in place for a number of counties today as the west coast of Ireland is set to be battered by heavy showers and strong gusts of wind.

Met Eireann issued three separate weather warnings for 10 counties yesterday ahead of a miserable day which will see gusty winds and long spells of rain lash the country.
