Weary world wonders what comes next...

THE world was last night awaiting Donald Trump's next move after his humiliating tariff U-turn.

Weary world wonders what comes next...

He had earlier announced a 90-day “pause” on trade tax on 75 countries, sparking a partial stock market bounceback following days of panicked selling.

But he upped the ante with China, raising tariffs on all its exports to the US, apparently to 125%.

Adding to the uncertainty, however, US broadcaster CNBC said it had been told by the White House the tariff on China was in fact 145%, as it was on top of a 20% levy already in place.

A 10% levy on most UK exports to the US remains in place, plus a punishing 25% tariff on cars and steel.
